The Bay Area Naadam Festival is an annual celebration of Mongolian heritage and culture that attracts hundreds of festivalgoers each year. The festival hosts a variety of exciting performances showcasing the nation’s folk music and traditional dance styles as well as several booths featuring a generous samplings of Mongolian cuisine ranging from buuz, savory meat-filled steam dumplings, to boortsog, fluffy and sweet fried cookies. Attendees can also enjoy Mongolian wrestling competitions, which are must-see, archery demos and a lively game of tug-of-war that gets people out of their seats and taking part in a bit of competitive fun.
